Ephesians 4: 12-13 For the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God.
1 Corinthians 12: 4-6 There are different kinds of gifts but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.
Awareness of our Spiritual gifts and utilizing them within the fellowship of the body of Christ is a great blessing for members of First Baptist Church of Langley (FBCL) and to our surrounding communities.
FBCL strives to provide opportunities for people to identify their Spiritual gifts and then encourages their use through identifying and providing an increasing number of opportunities for their use through various means. Brief examples of opportunities include:
- Teaching and exhortation (Sunday School, working in VBS, children and youth programs, Falls Creek and other camp sponsors),
- Mercy, service, helps, administration (Bethesda Free Clinic volunteers, Widows ministry, Green Country Camp, periodic work days at the church, working on various church committees)
- Giving (Stewardship programs, benevolence opportunities, blue house, special offerings)
- Exhortation and help (Prayer chain, sending cards, music ministry, Wednesday night prayer service, visitation)
