First Baptist Church of Langley (FBCL) celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2012. The church was started in 1959 as a missions project of Disney First Baptist Church. The congregation met in a school until the church was built in 1960.It has been at its present location since its inception on Grand Lake of the Cherokees, in northeastern Oklahoma in an area known as “South Grand Lake”,which encompasses several small towns including Langley.
The “government” of FBCL has been vested since its inception in the body of believers who compose it. The church is subject to the control of no other ecclesiastical body, but it recognizes and sustains the obligations of mutual counsel and cooperation, which are common among Southern Baptist Churches, insofar as Craig-Mayes Baptist Association, the Baptist General Convention of the State of Oklahoma and the Southern Baptist Convention.
We are Bible believing, teaching the whole counsel of God to prepare the saints
