Psalm 96:3 “Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples”

First Baptist Church Langley takes seriously the role of the local church in sending and supporting missionaries around the world. It is our desire to actively participate in the Great Commission through two means:

  1. By financially supporting full-time missionaries through the SBC Cooperative Program
  2. By providing opportunities for lay-members, including our youth, to serve on short-term mission trips. This may be accomplished through organizing the trips and / or providing support for our members that participate in these short-term mission efforts.

Matthew 28:18-20 “And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

First Baptist Church Langley (FBCL) as a member of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) participates in the SBC “Cooperative Program”. The Cooperative Program provides FBCL the opportunity to work together with other participating churches toward a common goal of sharing the gospel with every person on the planet.

Each year FBCL decides how much of its undesignated tithes and offerings will be committed to reaching people in our state and around the world through the Cooperative Program. This amount is then forwarded to our Oklahoma Southern Baptist Convention each month. The Oklahoma state convention, messengers from FBCL and other member Southern Baptist churches, decide what percentage of the Cooperative Program offerings stays in Oklahoma to support local missions and ministries and what percentage will be forwarded to the Southern Baptist Convention for North America and International missions and ministries is determined at this time.
